5 Things to Bring to Your Senior Session | Jean Wolford Photography - Star, Idaho

It's that time again. Senior photos for the class of 2024. This is a time to really capture all the different things that make your senior unique. They will never be a senior in high school again.

Here are the top 5 things I recommend every senior bring to their senior photography session. These items are meant to show your seniors personality, likes and interests, activities and school involvement, and what makes them truly unique.

  1. Any extra curricular activity outfit - This may be anything that represents their activity of choice. Examples would be a letterman's jacket, uniform, ball, racket, bike, pompous, etc.

  2. Special Interest Props - what does your senior like to do right now? If they love reading a book(s) by their favorite author. If they love music record(s) of their favorite artist or headphones. If they have a vehicle and you want to incorporate it into their photos. If they love art a sketch pad, canvas, easel, chalks, etc. If they love flowers bring some from home or grab an arrangement from the store. I love to showcase them doing their favorite activity and incorporate the props for uniqueness and album variety.

  3. Outfits - always bring (1) dressy, (1) casual, and include shoes, hats, jackets, etc. This is not a time to experiment or try out a new look. Make sure it's an outfit(s) they love and feel good in. Photos can be changed up just by adding a hat, sunglasses, jacket or change of shoes.

  4. Location - My sessions always allow for 2 locations. This can include, but is not limited to Boise foothills, flower farms, lakes, greenbelt, downtown Boise or downtown Eagle, etc. I live that two locations can provide so much variety. For example downtown Boise and Hyatt Reserve. In downtown you get Frwak Alley graffiti walls, stairs, brick buildings, coffee shop, book shop, record store and so forth. Then at Hyatt Reserve you get the trees, ponds, bridges, flowers, etc.

  5. Pets - Never forget the favorite family pet. Over the years I've had dogs, cats, and horses. The only thing I can't do is snakes. I'm emotionally weak lol

When you book we will spend some time getting to know your senior. Their likes and dislikes as well as their vision for their session. I always encourage sending me photos from Pinterest for ideas. I always ask that you tell me one thing they like and one thing they don't like about the photo. This helps me get a sense of their style and vision for the look of the album.

I am now booking senior 2025 sessions for summer and fall of 2024. Most high schools have a November deadline for submitting photos for the yearbook. By booking a summer session for session 1 and a fall session for session 2, you get 2 different locations and two different seasons all before yearbook deadline.

All session photos are clean editing with my signature style. Be sure and check out the "Seniors" highlight on my Instagram and be sure my photography style matches what you want. I tend to edit a bit moody with rich color. You can find me at www.instagram.com/jeanwolfordphotography

I would love to work with you and your high school senior.

Xoxo

Jean
